mini mixtapes: volume 2

This week I tried to surround myself with only happy and light music. There's really nothing else to be done when faced with days and days of rain and rain boots. So without further ado, the mini mixtape!

At Least It Was Here by the 88

It's no secret that I love Community. Though I was totally not interested at first, this show is now one of my favorites ever. And the theme song is simply perfect for the show, and I love the happy piano arpeggios in the background! It's perfect for splashing in puddles in my crazy rain boots.

Myriad Harbour by the New Pornographers

This song is my quintessential fall song. I love the rhythm, I love the rhyming lyrics, and I love the part about an American music anthology.

This Time Tomorrow by the Kinks

I discovered this song by way of the Darjeeling Limited soundtrack, but ever since discovering it it just seems to echo cool calmness that is always essential to retain on rainy autumn days.

Vagabond by Wolfmother

This song seems like it should be from the age of Bob Dylan and the Beatles and the Easy Rider sentiment of the late 60s early 70s, but apparently its from the 21st century. Whatever the time period, I love it.

Every Goliath Has Its David by the Boy Least Likely To

And no rainy day is complete without a bit of the Boy Least Likely To. They are like the frosting on top of the cupcake. And they know kung fu. If you're having a bad day, a rainy day, or just need a bit of a musical sugar high, listen to them at once.
