Opera in the Outfield

Last weekend I decided I needed more adventure in my life, and so a friend and I went to Opera in the Outfield, this marvelous event where they simulcast the opening opera of the Washington National Opera at the Nationals Ballpark. Which means you can watch your opera with a side of waffle fries and Honest Tea, while using the free wireless and wearing cute sunglasses. Even if I hadn't enjoyed the performance I think I could have had fun with all the above. I had never been to an opera before, and I completely fell in love with all the drama, music, and how even the tiniest happenings could have life-changing consequences for the characters. I can't wait for next year's Opera in the Outfield!
